Found it! The blog... Life.

It's been awhile since I've been on here. Well over a year. I'm retired now. I've been retired since 10/2014. All's going as well as can be.

For some reason I thought this blog was removed. Today, while culling out old emails I came across one that was sent to my main account from another email account I had way back in the late 90's early 2000's. Miraculously I remembered my password to the account. First try, I got logged on! Dayum! Anyways, here I am.

Being as I have time on my hands I'm going to try to dust some things off around here and update the ol' blog.

Or not. It depends how it goes. I did succumb to the draw of Facebook... TWICE! The wife got the first timeline I set up so I set up another one. Actually two other one's but Farcebook doesn't like right winged slants and pseudonyms on the same timeline. They're okay with it if it's all a liberal thing though. Nevertheless, it is what it is. It's Zueckerman's, Zueckerborg's (whatever his friggin' name is) little treasure trove. I can't fault him for demanding that when we're in his sandbox we play by his rules. It just didn't sit well with me the way he and his ilk arbitrarily locked me out of my pseudonym timeline and refused to let me back in it so I could mine the several years of information I put into it. But again, it's his rules not mine.

On the other hand this old place is still around. I'm thankful for that. I was running out of things to do, being retired and all. Too little time, too much to do now.

Well, thanks for being here. I'll be dropping by from time to time. Don't be shy, feel free to comment. Just keep in mind I'm machiavellian as all get out when it comes to my blog. I'll put Zueckerman, Zueckerborg, whatever to shame.

Take care!

just thinking and looking...

(About the pic: This picture was taken by our son's mother in law of our son, me and Dad down along the South Sound in the Beach Crest area probably in 2006 or 2007. We don't have the original photo. This is a picture of that picture. Too bad. I'd love to have had the original.)

I was just thinking and looking and wondering about things the other day. Out and about running around trying to catch up on some work related stuff and stumbled across those everyday sights that I've been taking for granted lately.

Nothing spectacular, just sights of things that have been "overlooked" over the past couple of years. It's too bad... they're important to me and I just let them slip by... kind of like this blog site...

(About this pic: Mt. Rainier. March 05, 2010. Taken from a hilltop in the Elbe/Mineral, Washington state area. One of the states several active volcanoes.)

Simple things with simple meanings.

These are places we go to reconnect, to keep in touch, to share... why have I not kept up? Why is it that I can't seem to get recharged and get that good ol' spirit regenerated and going again?

I don't know but it's an odd feeling... this having not been here in so long. There've been times over the past year where I've contemplated deleting everything and forgetting about it... moving on. Knowing it's here seems to cause some personal angst... especially since I haven't "kept up", haven't posted anything worthwhile in "oh so long". Yet, it still tells a story... even the inactivity.

I've revisited this site from time to time over the past several months with the sole intention of either posting to it or deleting it altogether... one or the other... but not letting it hang out here... alone... gathering dust... tangled in the web.

That's just not right. There's too many memories here.

(About the pic: A pic of an old homestead taken in the Pingston Creek area, Washington State. January 21, 2010)

It's not fair to log those activities, memories, experiences we've all shared throughout our lives only to abandon them to the mindless, heartless vacuum of the web.

I should have kept up but I didn't! I mean, a post that consists of a copy and paste of an anonymous email... where's that coming from?! That was a rather useless post, eh?

That isn't "keeping up". That isn't worthy of the label "blog activity". That type of post prompts action, serious consideration as to what to do next.

...with this blog...

If I stay on that course this blog will become nothing more than a dump site for witty but anonymous emails and cartoons...

...which has nothing to do with my original intentions for being here.

So, I've got some thinking to do.

Just thought I'd share my thoughts... Have fun all!

what are you looking for anyway?

(About the pic: Wildland fire investigators searching for clues to the fire's cause. Putting the puzzle together. May 10, 2009. Washington State)

The draw of the puzzle! The thrill of the search!

Information! Where to go, how to look for it, how to find it! What do you do with it once you've found it?

Why are you searching for it in the first place?

There's so many unanswered questions. Just looking at the blog's search results can lead to fantastic ideas, plots, themes.

Here's a breakdown regarding people's searches that brought them to this particular site...

I'm not sure what everyone was doing with this first one but here's the top search subject for the month of June, 2009. Folks must be curious about the Alford Plea... for whatever reasons.

-Overall Alford Plea related information. 63.63 percent

-Definition. 27.27 percent
-In Georgia? 9.09 percent
-In Massachusettes? 6.82 percent
-In Washington state? 6.82 percent
-In Colorado? 2.27 percent
-In general? 2.27 percent
-When do you use an alford plea? 2.27 percent
-Is an alford plea to help you or hurt you? 2.27 percent
-Sex offenders and alford pleas in georgia? 2.27 percent
-Dismissal of alford plea washington state? 2.27 percent

Then we had the second most popularly searched subject for June, 2009... Prednisone. Also known as Predesone, Predisone. Believed by me to have led to Dad's deterioration of health and subsequent death. We will never know for sure... just my suspicion.

-Prednisone. Also searched as predesone. 20.45 percent

-Predesone? 18.18 percent
-Super swollen arms following a rash? 2.27 percent

Followed by one of the all time favorites...

-Hobo Spiders? 9.10 percent

-Hobo spider photos? 2.27 percent
-Hobo spider bite? 2.27 percent
-Hobo spider? 2.27 percent
-Hobo spider WA state? 2.27 percent

The fourth most searched subject in June 2009 that landed people on this particular blog is a newby to the top five.

-Devil's Club? 4.55 percent

-Devil's club plant WA state? 2.27 percent
-Devil's club Olympic Peninsula? 2.27 percent

And finally, the fifth most popular search subject...

-Livingston Boat information? 2.27 percent

-Steering console for Livingston boat? 2.27 percent

I can only hope people found what they were looking for. The subjects are pretty diverse. But then again, the visitors to this site are coming here from just about everywhere on the globe.

Although the traffic has slowed considerably over the years it's still interesting to see who's visiting and from where they're visiting. I also try to determine what exactly they're looking for. There were a couple of rather absurd and bizarre searches but I've decided I'll save their information for another days post.

Bottom line! Thanks for stopping by! I'm not going away but I'm sure not as active on here as I used to be. Who knows, perhaps that'll change and I'll get back to posting about the world, as we see it a bit more regularly than I've been recently.

Take care! Thanks again.

Enjoy life!

Ahha...

A quick note to Angela.

She's our niece and I invited her to post to the blog whenever she feels the urge. She and her family are living in Colorado (as you can probably see from her post). When she was just a little tyke she couldn't say her name... she'd call herself "Ahha" so I've called her "Ahha" ever since hearing her say it way back when.

Angela, thanks for the post! As mentioned in my comments to your post I'm tickled to death you're able to.

Come on back and keep posting whenever you feel like posting.

Now if we can only get grandpa to start posting here.

Later Kiddo!

A quick note...

...to let you know I'm pretty busy lately and haven't been able to post as frequently as I prefer to.

I've been travelling all over the state getting ready for the "season" and am busy closing out certain winter and spring projects. I've also decided to start a new blog elsewhere and have been working on that off and on.

I'm not closing out this one, just building another one for fun and games.

Enjoy the summer, it's not here yet but it sure feels like it is.
